Teachers love Qipit in the classroom
January 4th, 2007How many times has a teacher heard the excuse ‘My dog ate it’ and how many times has a parent heard ‘I lost it’?
I recently visited Westwood Elementary to explore how Qipit could be used to help teachers and students in an elementary school setting. We found that there were even more ways than we imagined!
Teachers spend a great deal of effort keeping parents informed and involved in their children’s education. Miss Lee, a first grade teacher said, “Qipit is great to create portfolios of my students’ projects to share with parents. It is definitely an effective tool for teachers.”
With Qipit, teachers can create digital copies of student drawings, written work, or projects from art class in the form of a PDF file. The quality of a qipit copy in PDF format is much better than a picture and it can be easily emailed, printed and compiled into a booklet, or simply stored for safe keeping. Teachers can also use Qipit to create handouts from white boards or large writing pads that are often used in the classroom. And Qipit works great with standard digital cameras something that teachers already have. We used a 1.2 megapixel digital still camera (DSC) to demonstrate on our visit.
Everyone at Westwood Elementary that I talked to loved Qipit. And since it’s free, it’s in every teacher’s budget.
