Qipit supports the first iPhone unconference: BarCamp / iPhoneDevCamp
July 6th, 2007The iPhone craze is going full steam with the iMachine living up to most expectations, and more. The iPhone’s interface is the most thought-through, intuitive, and easy to use MMI I have seen in over 20 years of high-tech. Granted, I was one of the (very) few Mac 64 owners in France when it was released back in 1984, and that tells how sensitive I am to the topic of user interaction. But still, the first-ever iPhone “unconference” is actively being prepared here in San Francisco. The “iPhoneDevCamp” will take place at Adobe’s offices at 601 Townsend street (right across the street from qipit’s ever-expanding digs), and is free to attend – but make sure you read the BarCamp rules first: no tourists allowed!
We are proud to provide the iPhoneDevCamp with our support as a sponsor, giving away a brand new 8GB iPhone to the developer with the best use of the iPhone’s camera at the end of the geekfest.
I will be spending the best part of my weekend furthering the initial testing of the iPhone that I have started last week-end. More specifically, I will attempt to assess comprehensively the level of compatibility of our website, www.qipit.com, with Safari on the iPhone. Conclusions and observations will be posted here early next week. Stay tuned.
Benoit.
(chief iPhone testing officer)
