Put your phone to the Qipit test

May 15th, 2008

Last July we introduced a test page that helps us and our users gage the quality of their digital camera and camera phone for creating copies using Qipit. Since then, we have made several upgrades to our scanning engine. One very noticeable upgrade is the ability to preserve the integrity of a photograph within a document, while still maximizing the readability of the scanned text (See Move Over Desktop Fax, Scanners and Copiers). As a result, we thought it would be appropriate to improve the test page by adding a color photograph.

Some of the best camera phones will show the vertical support cables in the photograph of the Golden Gate Bridge. These are mostly in Japan right now, but are coming to the rest of us soon. We also went the extra mile and created both a landscape and portrait version, just cause choice is always better.

To test your camera phone download and print a copy of this test page (in color if you can), write your phone type and carrier on the page in the space provided, take a picture of the test page with your phone, then send it to test@qipit.com. By sending to the test address, we’ll receive a copy of your qipit digital copy and will be able to use your results to help us better understand real world results with various camera phones.

If you’d like to keep your results to yourself, simply create your qipit digital copy the usual way by sending it to copy@qipit.com (for black and white copies) or color@qipit.com (for color copies).

I sent a test page this morning, 6/23/08 from my Sony Ericsson Z520a. How do I see the results of my test?

You should have received it within minutes of sending it. If you did not, you may want to check your spam filter, on some rare occasions there could have been an error. If so, try sending it again. (test@qipit.com)

Tested with my BlackBerry 8330 for Sprint and it worked perfect!

    Thanks.
